Objective of the Programme

 To equip students with deeper knowledge and skills to enable them apply ecumenism in church leadership in Africa and beyond.

Philosophy of the Programme

In collaboration with St. Paul’s University (Limuru - Kenya), AACC Master of Theology in Ecumenical Leadership Degree is based on its agenda for promoting inter-generational learning and mentorship of young theologians on ecumenical-related issues affecting Africa and globe. This is necessitated by the need to producing present and future ecumenically-oriented leaders for African churches and ecumenical bodies.

Candidates eligible for admission into the course shall have a bachelors degree in any of following fields: 

  • Bachelor degree in Theology or its equivalent from a recognized institution of higher learning
  • Bachelor degree in Religious Studies or its equivalent from a recognized institution of higher learning
  • Bachelor degree in Divinity or its equivalent from a recognized institution of higher learning,
  • Bachelor degree in Ecumenism  or its equivalent from a recognized institution of higher learning.

The objectives are:

  1. Equipping students to expound forms of leadership in the contemporary ecumenical movement. 
  2. Involving students to discuss leadership approaches in response to emerging contextual theologies in Africa. 
  3. Modelling students to practice leadership in ecumenical context. 
  4. Rooting students to examine the roles of ecumenical organizational leadership for sustainable development in Africa. 
  5. Promoting students to apply contemporary leadership skills in ecumenical organizations and churches in Africa.

The master of Theology in Ecumenical Leadership is a One-Year Academic programme.
